This document is a draft pending legal review and is subject to change.
  1. 1. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how The Founders Workspace ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Founders Workspace.

  2. 2. Information We Collect

    • Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted), and organization details you provide during signup and setup.
    • Organization Content: Governance data you create in the platform: mission/vision statements, board and committee information, meeting records, motions, votes, decisions, policies, and documents you upload.
    • Membership Data: If you use membership features, information about your organization's membership types, dues structures, and (as those features expand) member records you choose to store.
    • Payment Information: Billing is handled by Stripe; we do not directly store your full payment card details. We retain subscription status, plan type, and billing history as provided by Stripe.
    • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Service (pages visited, features used, login activity) to help us maintain and improve the platform.
    • Communications: If you contact us for support, we retain that correspondence.
  3. 3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to: provide and maintain the Service; process payments and manage subscriptions; send trial, billing, and account-related communications (including trial reminder emails); respond to support requests; and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information or your organization's data to third parties.

  4. 4. Third-Party Services We Use

    • Stripe: payment processing.
    • Supabase: application hosting and database.
    • [Email service provider]: transactional and reminder emails.
    • Lovable: application development platform.

Each of these providers processes data on our behalf and is bound by their own privacy and security practices; we encourage you to review their policies as well.

  5. 5. Data Retention and Deletion

    • Active Accounts: We retain your account and organization data for as long as your subscription remains active.
    • Trial Accounts: If a trial is not converted to a paid subscription, your account is locked after the trial period and your account, organization, and all associated data are permanently deleted 30 days from your trial start date. This deletion is final; we do not maintain a backup or recovery mechanism for deleted trial accounts.
    • Cancelled Paid Accounts: [TO BE DEFINED]
  6. 6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  7. 7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Contact us at support@thefoundersworkspace.com to make such a request.

  8. 8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
